Verselandia 2014! Save the date!

LitearyArtsURLLogoColorVerselandia 2014! is our 3rd PPS  high school poetry slam presented by Literary Arts. It is the Grand Slam for individual school slams hosted by PPS high school library media specialists.

Where: Gerding Theatre at the Armory on 128 NW Eleventh Avenue
Portland, Oregon 97209 | 503-445-3700 (Portland Center Stage)

When: Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 7-9  ( NOTE TIME CHANGE FROM LAST YEAR)

Details: Participating  high schools will conduct their own Poetry Slams and the 2 finalists from each school will compete against each other for big prizes (to be announced soon). If you are a high school student wishing to participate, please contact your library staff.

Tickets: $10 online HERE

Verselandia Winners on Think Out Loud (and other press)

The winners from Verselandia got to spend the day at Wieden & Kennedy (or should I say the folks at Wieden and Kennedy got treated to a day with our PPS Slam Rock Stars! OPB’s Think Out Loud featured these performers and their day. Click HERE for the podcast.

The Winners!

The members of the audience were the big winners at Verselandia! last night. What an amazing group of performers and writers!  These students were honored with the top awards for the night:

Great Prizes!

  • The  first place winner will be awarded a MacBook. 
  • The 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded iPads.
  • The 1st , 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place winners will have an opportunity to spend May 8 at Weiden and Kennedy and will perform their pieces while being part of OPB’s Think Out loud !
